Who are you?
I’m Kim McLachlan, an award-winning realtor who loves living in Victoria.
I’m deeply involved in the women’s professional community here in Victoria, and those connections help me bring incredible value to my clients.

For the past 25 years, I’ve put my business degree to work for an exciting career in sales, public relations and fashion. (Lucky me—I can do all those things in one job, as real estate is a mixture of all of those things.)

I’m also a parent of two twenty-something children, so you know that I am a woman who has a lot of patience.

What do you do?
I’m a matchmaker of sorts, helping you find the perfect home and a great deal. (I have a real knack for finding deals.) And by perfect, I mean perfect for you—a home that aligns with your vision, suits your lifestyle, and is within your budget.

I put my 25+ years of sales experience to work for you, and have a not-so-secret weapon; my home office at Pemberton Holmes Real Estate, the oldest agency in North America and the largest on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. While you’re dealing with me as an individual, you’ll also have the support and expertise of an established successful agency.

Why do you do what you do?
I love to help people. It’s as simple as that. I also love design and architecture and living in Victoria, so real estate is a perfect fit for me.

What do your clients value about you?
They like that I take the stress out of sales, and they really enjoy my positive “no pressure” attitude. My clients say that they feel safe in my capable hands. I attend to every detail, allowing them to relax and enjoy the process of buying or selling their home.

What are some of your favourite things to do?
Victoria is a great city to explore on foot while discovering pockets of hidden beauty. Walking is something I do a lot. I also spend time tending my garden.

I love to cook and entertain; apparently, my pizza is legendary. It brings me joy to see how good home cooking brings out happiness and laughter in my loved ones.

What is your most treasured possession?
I don’t think of them as possessions, but my children are my pride and joy. My son is studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Victoria. My daughter operates a high-end fitness club, and is honing her business skills by taking night courses at Camosun College.

What natural ability would you like to have?
I would love to create art with metal and wood and have taken woodworking classes in the past. I highly respect and admire people who can take a piece of driftwood and some old rusty iron and mold it into a breathtaking piece of art.

What would someone be surprised to discover about you?
I’m a singer (jazz, blues, Latin)—and a good one! I attend neighbourhood jam sessions, and sometimes there are prizes. Guess who wins each and every time?
